Where was God in Haiti?

Seeing the images of the destruction and pain caused by the earthquake in Haiti may have prompted you to ask again, where is God in all this mess? Why did he let it happen?

J. John is a U.K based evangelist who has written an article that might give you a fresh perspective on the question of God and suffering.

As Christians we firmly believe that we are supposed to help those in need, and in the face of this suffering our first reaction must always be to try and help in every way we can. As J. John says in the article, “The best and most honourable response to suffering has always been to act first and philosophise later”. This post isn’t an attempt to justify the suffering of the people of Haiti; it is simply trying to explain how Christians can find hope in the midst of this crisis.
