Alpha Changes Lives

Have you ever heard of the Alpha course? Maybe you've seen adverts on billboards and buses asking the question 'Is there more to life than this?' Maybe you've asked yourself that question in the past. Here's the story of Richard Hillier, a friend of mine who's life was changed by going on the Alpha course.

"Before I met Jesus I was working in London, running my own recruitment business.

My general impression of Christianity didn’t really sit too well with me as  I had spent a lot of time looking into things like the big bang theory, evolution, and also other religions. When I saw all the contradictions in all the religions, I couldn’t possibly think there was one God. I thought if there is only one God, surely there would only be one religion rather than the many different religions we have now 

There were many things going on in my life that led me to feel completely lost. I decided to do Alpha after having a good chat with a friend of mine who was a Christian. I thought I’d just go along to the launch to see what happened.

Everything changed! My whole outlook on life has changed. I suddenly knew that there was a God, his name is Jesus and it’s made a massive difference. My faith has given me direction and a purpose. Before I became a Christian I felt like I was wandering around, lost in a desert. I now feel like I’ve been made part of a family, that I’ve arrived home."
